Bear Kicks Her Motherly Instincts Into High Gear To Save Her CubsThe Rainforest Site
A mother’s instincts are almost never wrong. Whether it is a human or an animal, a mother can do incredible things when her children are in danger. To know exactly the right moment to jump into action takes something special, and mothers have it all.
While doing some fishing in the middle of a rushing river, a mother grizzly bear watched as her three cubs tumbled over a small waterfall and then began to get swept away in the quickly-moving currents.
As soon as she saw her first cub go over the falls, she was on high alert and immediately ran to the side of the river to make her way downstream.
When she finds the perfect spot, she makes her way back into the middle of the river to catch all three of her cubs and bring them all safely to shore.
It is feats like this that make motherly instincts all the more incredible to see in the wild!
For animals, it is almost always left up to the mother to teach her offspring the critical instincts needed for survival, especially since after the children are born, the male is rarely part of the child-rearing process.
Humpback whales, for example, do everything for their calves. The mother will forgo surfacing for breath so that her calf can breathe itself. Sometimes they will give their calf 4-6 surfaces of their own before the mother even tries to come up for air.
For cheetahs, the mothers make sure to help teach their offspring that their beautiful black spots can give them the perfect camouflage to help them hide from potential threats.
There are just so many examples in the wild of mothers using their instincts to accomplish incredible feats.
