Dr. Sylvia Earle Has Spent Nearly a Year Underwater!

You may have heard of Dr. Sylvia Earle — she is one of the most prestigious oceanic explorers in the business. She has been lauded by the New Yorker, the New York Times, Time Magazine, TED, and the Library of Congress for her contributions to oceanography, and has logged more than 7,000 hours underwater on over 100 research expeditions… that’s nearly an entire year under water!

Dr. Earle is an Eco Warrior. She has investigated environmental damage from oil spills, war, and natural disasters. She is a force for the protection of marine mammals, and founder of Mission Blue. Dr. Sylvia Earle turns 81 this year and she is still a major voice in oceanography. She continues her work with National Geographic as Explorer-in-Residence.

Watch the video to find out what this living legend cares about, and what it takes to be an Eco Warrior.
