A young coyote was struck by a car while trying to cross a busy street. Thankfully, someone found him and brought him to Gold County Wildlife Rescue. This wonderful organization provides free services to animals in need and they operate mainly on donations.

At the rescue center, which is run by the California Department of Fish and Wildife, the coyote was given a temporary enclosure during her rehabilitation. Before long, she made a full recovery and was ready to be released into the wild.

Coyotes are thought to be a pesky creature by many but they are absolutely essential in their natural habitat with keeping the natural food web well-regulated. So, next time you see a wild coyote, appreciate their value to the ecosystem!

Check out the video to see the inspiring footage of her release.
