Whale sharks are one of the more mysterious creatures of the deep, with very little being known about where they give birth or where they migrate. Marine conservationist and whale shark expert Brad Norman has been studying whale sharks near Australia's Ningaloo Reef, a stop-off point for young whale sharks who are on their journey to deeper waters. He worked with engineer Graham Wilhelm on an expedition to attach a “Crittercam,” a camera with an added sensor, to a shark's dorsal fin. The Crittercam can capture underwater video to help observers understand sharks' behavior underwater.
