Year After Year, This Penguin Keeps Coming Back

In 2011, retired bricklayer João Pereira de Souza was taking a stroll along the beach of Ilha Grande when he found an oil-soaked penguin. Stricken by its plight, João took the Patagonian penguin home, then cleaned him up and fed him sardines. The penguin, nicknamed JinJing, has never forgotten what João did for him. JinJing still comes and goes at will, often leaving for days and months at a time, but he always returns to his old friend. There can be no other explanation for why the penguin, who is native to cold-weather Patagonia 2,000 miles away, would return to sunny Brazil, where he spends about 8 months of the year.

JinJing has been making his trip back to see his old friend for 5 years now and you better believe when the time comes and he stops by to see João, we will have an update for you all!
