A normal mammalian behavior, nose-picking helps clear the sinuses and improve breathing. While monkeys use their fingers or tools such as sticks, other animals — those without the luxury of fingers — use their tongues, or simply take a deep breath and blow, proving that mucus is just one more element that connects humans to the animal kingdom.
