As part of the International Day of Happiness festivities on March 20, 2016, U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon joined forces with the creators of “Angry Birds” by naming one of the popular video game franchise's main characters, Red, an Honorary Ambassador for Green. While timing of the recognition coincides with promotion for the release of the upcoming Angry Birds movie, it's more than just a marketing ploy. It also comes with an important environmental message. Ki-moon released this video in tandem with the announcement, urging us all to think carefully about how “angry” we may be making the environment. The secretary general noted that we can all make the Angry Birds happy by taking care of the environment through recycling, using public transportation, and conserving water.
