These Chipmunks Are NUTS!

TRS_Blog_DTOP_BelowTitle_336x280

Every autumn in the eastern part of the United States, over 26 billion oak trees change colors and drop acorns — and chipmunks scurry to gather the precious cargo. Gathering them certainly requires dedication. By late fall, a chipmunk will have collected about 6,000 nuts! To accommodate as many nuts as possible during each trip, their cheeks will stretch up to three times the size of their heads.

Watch as a particularly industrious chipmunk stuffs his cheeks in preparation for winter, while another chipmunk tries to mooch off of his hard work!
