Five Incredible Bridges for Animals! The Rainforest Site
Each day in the United States, roughly one million animals (emphasis on million) are killed while trying to cross the road. The problem has gotten so bad that driver’s education teachers in Michigan tell their students what to do when a deer is crossing in their projected pathway (brake, don’t swerve!).
But animals adapt — that’s what they do best. However, in this instance, adapting to avoid roads and other obstacles may not be in their best interest.
When animals designate themselves to one area, sealed off with artificial barriers, their food and mate selection may significantly decrease, which can lead to dwindling or disappearing populations.
Watch to find out what we’re doing to give these animals their ecosystems back, and to prevent one million unnecessary deaths per day! Give it up to the people that thought about this idea! Their ideas are truly inspirational.
